History

The Axbridge Community Allotment was formed as an Unincorporated Association in 2008 after a year long search for land and interested members.  Initially Mark Liebman and Sarah Laborde, town residents who had their names on a long Town Council allotment waiting list approached Council with the idea of starting a community garden.  Twenty three signatures of interested residents were gained after a stint at the Farmer's Market and this supported the formation of a community allotment.

With help from the then Councillor, Jim Lukins, we rented land at Bailiffs Wall, and a bit later we also rented three plots of the Town Council allotments at Hillside.
